once i would have said
i need you like i need water
i must drink deeply of you
every day
or go insane
and die
once i would have said that
and meant it in all sincerity.
i must touch my lips to you
at least once every three days-
a minimum requirement for life as a human.
but that was before i realized-
i'm actually a fish.
